Besides running, he also riding bicycle while going to work, and he realised that there are many litters along the streets which causing a huge negative impact to the environment. Therefore, he started to bring the tools to clean up the litters while running, and the Plogging is stated at this point, from a volunteering activity by few people developed to an environmentally friendly sport which have many participants across different countries and regions.

The word Plogging is created by 2 different languages, from the Swedish word “Plocla upp” and English word “Jogging”, which are represented two main actions of Plogging, pick up the rubbish and jogging(workout).

Although it is always emphasised this sport requires running, “running” and “jogging” here are just hoping to encourage everyone to do exercise and clean up litters while doing exercise. Therefore, even your exercise is cycling, brisk walking or just walking are fine, the most important thing is participating together!
